So I recently dusted off my PSP-E1000 (the European budget version) and I wanted to put some games on it. Since it doesn't have WiFi, the only way to install games is either with a PC or a PS3. I used to be able to download games with MediaGo. I would go to my downloadlist and I would download a.xpd file. That file would then be opened with PlayStation Network Downloader and MediaGo would start downloading the game. When I tried to that recently, I received an error code (0x8004830c).
I did a fresh install of MediaGo, but it seems that the PlayStation Network Downloader isn't included anymore. I've looked around on the internet and I see multiple users reporting the same issue. Is there a way to fix this or has it indeed become impossible? Edit: problem is fixed. The PlayStation Network Downloader is no longer used (so the.xpd files that are linked in your account management are useless), instead you can access your downloadlist from within MediaGo (Click on Store, top right corner Downloadlist). From there you can download your PSP games/minis/PSone classics. Here is what Sony said when they closed the PSP store: As of September 15, 2014, we closed the PlayStation®Store for PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) in European and PAL regions.
PSP users will still be able to purchase PSP content from the Sony Entertainment Network Online Store as well as redownload content they purchased in the past from the download list on their PSP systems.” Sounds like they left PSP-E1000 owners without a PS3 high and dry. I'd contact Sony and ask them what you are supposed to do to redownload your games. Maybe they will send you a free PS3.
